January 2014 Featured Cruise Blog – RCCL Allure of the Seas

RCCL, Allure of the Seas

In April 2012 along with nine other travelers, I was able to experience the largest ship in Royal Caribbean’s fleet at that time….The Allure of the Seas.

I have cruised before, but never like this! The Allure is part of the Oasis Class of Royal Caribbean ships. For starters, the Allure is comprised of neighborhoods including Central Park, Boardwalk and Royal Promenade. The neighborhoods host shopping, theaters, staterooms, entertainment venues and various dining establishments. With over two dozen optional restaurants serving Italian, Mexican and Brazilian, be sure to make time to visit the hotdog, ice cream stands, a cupcake boutique and the first Starbucks at Sea.

One awesome attraction of Royal Caribbean sailings is the entertainment. This particular ship hosts the Chicago musical and how amazing it was – Broadway on a ship! The comedy show kept us laughing while the outdoor aqua theater showed off talents of acrobatic diving and swimming.

Because of the enormity of the Allure, it gives plenty of space for everyone to enjoy time to themselves. From enjoying a book in the solarium, relaxing in one of the many hot tubs, enjoying the outdoor pools, zip lining, ice skating, rock climbing, trying your luck in the casino and shopping in the massive galleria shopping area; there is certainly plenty to experience for all onboard.

The Western Caribbean itinerary included some fun ports of call: Labadee, Haiti featuring pristine beaches and spectacular water activities with the longest zip line in the Caribbean. A great straw market in close proximity of the beach allowed us to see local artisans at work. Falmouth, Jamaica where we had the opportunity to get in a quick tour of the town via private tour and a fun driver who was willing to make a pit-stop at a random side-of-the-road bar for our group where we experienced local Jamaican beer. And finally, Cozumel where we ventured out in the town to shop for great silver deals and experience one of the best snorkeling beaches around. Last but not least, we enjoyed an authentic Mexican meal with a delicious margarita to finish off our visit.

If you’d like to experience this amazing ship and all the amenities she has to offer, I would love the opportunity to share more information and get you on your way to a fabulous cruise vacation you’ll never forget.
